INSTRUCTORS
They consist in the main of 2 people who we will leave to introduce themselves.
PAUL
"I have been medically retired from the Metropolitan Police. I now run my own motorcycle training school. I left as a Sergeant after 18 years, where I was highly trained.
My daily role consisted of training and assessing. I am very well equipped to teach these courses to you. I have been around the same style of exam for the last 12 years, only at a higher level than you need to pass Cardington.
You will benefit highly from my extra knowledge and inside information that I have for this method of teaching and the "role playing assessments you will have to partake in.
I am well establish in this field and have over 4 years motorcycle instructor training experience and have been a part of every course at Probike Training and now have hundreds of Cardington successes to my name, which I am very proud of.
We have trained succesfully, people from Aberdeen to Devon. I conduct courses month in month out and my dedication reflects in my good name and success rate".
HOW CAN I BE A MOTORCYCLE INSTRUCTOR?
We are absolutely clear and you should be too, that, whoever your instructors are is the most important factor in choosing a company that is going to teach you to be a motorcycle instructor and pass both the CBT and DAS assessments at Cardington the DSA's headquarters.
You can see below for who you will be dealing with, but also check out our motorcycle instuctor staff to see who is also here to help. Then by all means compare us to any other company....in fact we recommend you do this if only to confirm that Probike Training is the only real choice if you are serious about becoming a motorcycle instructor.
ROY
"I have very recently left the DSA after 19 years where I was an Examiner. For the last 5 years or so I have been a Motorcycle Instructor Assessor at Cardington. In that time I have examined hundreds of prospective instructors, so I know exactly what you need to know!
I now work for Probike because, when I was at Cardington they seemed the only company that could regularly send high quality students and there is no way that I would offer my skills and knowledge lightly or to other companies that only appear to be after a fast buck.
I put myself out by having over a hundred mile round trip to work at Probike this shows my commiment and belief in Probike Training.
The training here at Probike is spot on! and speaking as an ex examiner there is absolutely no need for courses to be longer than 6 or 7 days. I failed scores of people that had done lengthy 10 to 14 day courses, that had undertaken ADI based training and that had done "work experience courses" all of which seemed to me, whilst at Cardington, to be a rip off.
To my knowledge I am the only guy with my experience that has gone into instructor training. I have only worked for Probike and would not work for anyone else in this field. This course and our knowledge can only be found here. If you want to be a success and pass Cardington, then come to the company that I saw stand tall in a crowd of others and prove themselves to be in a different class with a passrate that eclipsed all companies that sent candidates to Cardington."
Probike Training are the ONLY instructor training school in the country to have the course specifically designed by an ex-Cardington DSA Examiner and Police Sergeant.
We are now imitated by others who say they have the same input! This is not the case we have never sanctioned our information for use by other "instructor trainers". They are probably succesful students of Probike Training using our material. They however do not have the course designers or experience mentioned above actually teaching on their courses.....We do!
We`are extremely flattered by this but please do not be fooled into paying for second hand information. Come to Probike Training and let the true professionals in instructor training lead you through your Cardington Assessment and show the way into becoming a fully qualified motorcycle instructor.
To be a Driving Standards Agency motorcycle instructor you must be over 21 years old, have held a UK Licence for no less than 3 years. The DSA also require that a Motorcycle Instructor must be a "fit and proper person"...this means that you need to have a relatively clean driving/motorcycle licence and have a good or spent criminal record.
If you wish to manage or run your own Authorised Training Body, that is have your own motorcycle training school, you need to pass the Supervision part of the assessment. This is fully catered for in our course, as is training techniques and the full syllabus.
Most candidates wishing to become a Motorcycle Instructor want to be able to teach DAS, that is, students on machines around 500cc. To do this there are 2 assessments that you need to pass at Cardinton, The national headquarters of the DSA.
Each exam is a role playing assessment whereby the examiner takes the role of your student and you are expected to be the instructor that solves problems and teaches correct control and good practice. You are expected to supervise other instructor candidates when you are not instructing. The examiner marks you on these 2 issues and awards you a pass or fail. There is no pass mark, there is no written exam and you are not tested on your riding, that said the examiner could fail you if this is poor.
The 2 assessments are CBT and then DAS. The CBT is 2 days duration and the DAS is a little less than half a day. Our CBT course is 6 days, consecutive, our DAS is 1 day. We will supply a pre read pack with the CBT and course notes, we originally designed these over 3 years ago, they are water resistant and notes can written onto them whilst assessing others.
After our course you would attend Cardington, this would normally be 1 to 2 weeks from the end of the course, this gives you time to revise and practice the skills learnt. On successful completion you would then book the DAS course and DAS assessment.
So why us? Well if you are not convinced by the above alone look at thes facts . A pass rate that soars above all others when you consider that we are training candidates for about 100 Cardington assessments a year, far more than anyone else!. Our pass rate is still above 90 percent.
We train month in month out, in a purpose built classroom, with the same equipment as Cardington. All our instructors have now taken several courses and are regularly asssessed by Roy for quality assurance. No other company can offer you this or the professional standards of Probike Training.
Our courses are keenly price we are not the cheapest, but strangely we are not the most expensive, which is what should be expected as no one can match us!
